Always There Home Health Care Director Appointed to Prestigious Board

Hawthorne, NJ, August 29, 2012. – Always There Home Health Care (AT) and New Providence-based Commission on Accreditation for Home Care (CAHC) have a lot in common. Not only have both been around for at least 25 years and aim to deliver high quality home care services, but they also share an influential person.

Barbara Oliver, Director of Operations at AT, was recently appointed to a three-year term on the CAHC Board of Trustees. CAHC is a non-profit organization that sets quality standards for the booming home care industry and its consumers, and operates exclusively in New Jersey to accredit home care agencies. CAHC collaborates with the New Jersey State Departments of Health, Human Services, and Law and Public Safety.

The CAHC Board has a mix of home health care, social service, financial, legal, and business professionals that together reflect the public interest. They can grant or revoke accreditation and provide direction to the Commission on Accreditation.

“I felt I could bring years of health care experience to the Board as both a director of home health aides and as a consumer after taking care of my elderly mother for many years,” said Oliver. “One of the founding principles of Always There was the belief people thrive better in their own homes.”

CAHC seeks to promote high quality home care in New Jersey by developing and evaluating standards, accrediting agencies on an annual basis, and providing industry and consumer education. Ms. Oliver is chairperson of the CAHC Accreditation Review Committee and a member of the Standards Committee.

“I was honored to be named to the CAHC Board and want to make a difference in quality home care for New Jersey,” Oliver said. “With their high standards, CAHC has considerable influence in the home health care industry.”

Ms. Oliver has been part of CAHC since 1991. In 2008, AT was chosen to be part of a CAHC Trial Study, which was instrumental in establishing various standards from quality assurance reporting to new worker training in corporate compliance and pain management.

Ms. Oliver attained her intensive business degree from Berkeley School of Business in Ridgewood. She has been with Always There Home Health Care for 22 years, starting as a care coordinator and moving on to office manager and then Director of Operations. Ms. Oliver currently oversees AT’s three New Jersey offices in Hackensack, Hawthorne, and West Milford that serve Bergen, Essex, Hudson, Morris, Passaic, and Sussex Counties. She is a member of the Passaic County Health Care Cluster Committee and has volunteered in the geriatric community.

Always There Home Health Care dedicates its service to providing quality care to clients in their homes while maintaining the highest level of integrity. We have served more than 20,000 residents since 1987 in Bergen, Essex, Hudson, Morris, Passaic, and Sussex Counties. For more information, visit www.alwaystherehc.com.
