South Orange and Maplewood children interested in playing baseball, softball or soccer may register for these sports starting this week.

South Mountain Soccer, for grades 3-8, is registering players of all levels from Feb. 1 - Feb. 15. Early registration is encouraged, since registration may end early if the program fills up before Feb. 15. For more information, visit the Baird at 5 Mead St., South Orange, or www.thebaird.org.

South Orange/Maplewood Baseball and Softball registration will be held on Feb. 6 - Feb. 7, 1pm - 4pm. Players can register either at the Baird  in South Orange or the Civic House in Maplewood. New players must register in person and bring a copy of their birth certificate. Baseball is open to ages 5-15 and softball is open to girls in grades K-9.
