First Annual NJ Tap Dance Festival Coming to SOPAC
From July 14-17, the South Orange Performing Arts Center will host the first annual Jersey Tap Fest, celebrating the art of tap dancing. The festival will include classes and a stage show.
Classes will be held from 9am-7:15pm on July 14-16, followed each night by a 7:30pm performance. The event will culminate in a stage show on July 17 at 7pm, honoring living tap dance legend, Dr. Harold 'Stumpy' Cromer. Scheduled performers include the New Jersey Tap Ensemble, the Junior Belles, Honoree: Dr. Harold 'Stumpy' Cromer, Karen Callaway Williams, Maurice Chestnut, Jeffry Foote, Jason Janas, Hillary-Marie Michael, Logan Miller, Deborah Mitchell (schedule permitting), Sarah Reich and Tap Con Sabor, Kyle Wilder and many more. Ticket prices vary by participant and event, and range from $10-$30.
