Mary Lou Baxley, nee Herrmann, of Summit died on Oct. 15 at home. She was 76. Baxley was born in Louisville, KY, grew up in South Orange and settled in Summit in the 1950s. She earned a bachelor's degree in English from Bucknell University in 1954. Baxley was a longtime homemaker and volunteer at Overlook Hospital in Summit, and later had a 13-year career as the hospital's volunteer coordinator before her retirement in 1996. She was also a volunteer with the NJ Sharing Network and a parishioner of St. Teresa of Avila Church in Summit.
