Morton J. Ament of West Orange, a member of Temple Sharey Tefilo-Israel in South Orange, died on June 21. He had lived in Long Beach, NY, before moving to West Orange. A U.S. Army combat veteran of World War II, Ament had fought in the Battle of Normandy and the Battle of the Bulge, and he was at the liberation of Dachau. He later worked for Blue Cross/Blue Shield in New York City, retiring as the director of communications. He held a master's degree from New York University in labor relations. Ament was predeceased by his first wife, Dana, in 1979.
