Music Fest This Saturday To Feature Young Local Musicians

  • May 26, 2010

This Saturday, May 29, Maplewood's Burgdorff Center will host a concert of Columbia High School student bands and vocalists at the second annual "Music Fest at the Burgdorff," sponsored by the Maplewood Department of Recreation and Cultural Affairs. The acts encompass a wide variety of genres, including alternative rock, funk, jazz, and a cappella singing.

The featured performers are Half Step Up, Short Line, Type D, This Bird, Scratch n' Sniff, the Allison Phillips Trio, and the duo Ari Finkel and Jay Rosen. CHS senior Quinn Lashinsky is coordinating the program.

The evening is a rare opportunity to see young local musicians play in the Maplewood/South Orange community. Last year's Music Fest sold out, and this year's show promises to be another hit. Tickets will be sold at the door, $5 general admission and $3 students. Doors open at 7:30. For more information call 973-378-9154.
