Marcus Jamison, Holly Lehren and Victoria Merlino of South Orange are attending a People to People World Leadership Forum. The seventh graders were selected to study leadership and explore some of the United States’ most prominent monuments and institutions.
They will visit Capitol Hill, Smithsonian Institution, Williamsburg and Arlington National Cemetery as part of the experience. The students are examining the characteristics of American leadership during times of national challenge and prosperity. The delegates are also participating in small-group discussions and exercises to experience first-hand how successful leadership develop strategies, make decisions, build consensus, and foster change.
The students were nominated and accepted for the honor based on outstanding scholastic merit, civic involvement and leadership potential.
