Trail Work Day in South Mountain Reservation

  • April 1, 2009
  • Organization: South Mountain Conservancy
  • Causes: Environmental
  • Date(s): Sunday, April 5 from 8:45am - 12:00pm
  • Phone: Call (973) 768-5606 in case of rain
  • Website: www.somocon.org

Come and help the South Mountain Conservancy build sustainable trails for everyone to enjoy whether hiking, biking, or riding. Some trails have become too eroded to fix, so re-routes are needed. Please help get the Reservation's trails back in good working order.

The group will meet at the Girl Scout Oval, off South Orange Avenue. It's on the westbound side just past Glenview Rd. at the top of the "S" curves.

The Conservancy will provide water and tools. Be sure to wear sturdy shoes and bring work gloves!

This activity is for adults and minors 15 and older who are accompanied by a parent.

would you consider doing trail tweeking sometime this summer. I hike/walk the trails almost every day and am always amazed how many in our town aren't aware as to what they have here. I would love to go out once in a while and do trail maintenance - basically do it myself when I am there anyway. Let me know. Thanks - Steven
