Celebrity Readings Comes to Columbia High Auditorium Tonight

The annual Adult School event tries out a new venue.

It's an annual rite of spring in South Orange and Maplewood — the Adult School's Celebrity Readings.

In the past, the event has often graced the theater space at SOPAC, but this year, the celebrities are coming to the Columbia High School auditorium. The 10th Annual Celebrity Readings will be held tonight, Monday, March 26 at 7:30 p.m.

This year’s event will include the Isaiah Sheffer, co-founder of NYC’s Symphony Space, Fred Applegate, currently appearing as Monsignor O’Hara in Broadway’s Sister Act, and Sean McCourt, an original member of Broadway’s Wicked and the creator of the long-running Broadway attraction Behind the Emerald Curtain. A dessert reception will follow the evening of entertainment. Tickets are $40 in advance; $45 at the door. Purchase tickets either by phone (973-378-7620) or online (www.somadultschool.org).

The event is a fundraiser that helps support the educational classes and lectures offered by The Adult School — but it's also an evening of great actors, great writers and great stories.
