CHS Prom Showcase in Grove Park
Hundreds gathered in Grove Park to watch couples strut down the red carpet.
Grove Park was thronged with parents, CHS underclassmen, alumni, friends of graduating seniors and interested South Orange residents who came to watch prom-goers walk down a red carpet that started near the curb of Grove Road and extended down a path toward the interior of the park.
Police cruisers had blocked off Grove Road and Park Place to normal traffic by 5:30 p.m., when the first three couples arrived, allowing limousines and party buses to drop seniors off at the curbside by the red carpet.
After walking the red carpet with their dates and being photographed by friends and families, students attended the prom at Westmount Country Club in Woodland Park, N.J., and many announced that they were headed to New York after the prom.

Graduation is at 5 p.m. Tuesday in the Richard J. Codey Arena in West Orange, followed by Midnight Madness in a secret location.
