Crane's Brings Back Dinners-to-Go
Popular take-out dinner menu is up and running at Crane's at Highland Place.
When Steve Crane first introduced dinners-to-go at the old Crane's Deli, it was a rousing success.
"We were selling around 30-35 dinners each night," said Crane. Eventually, though, the logistics made it challenging and the dinners came to an end, much to the dismay of many regulars who had come to depend on the Ropa Vieja, the meatloaf and more.
But now that Crane's has joined forces with Highland Place -- meaning a larger kitchen space and later hours -- dinners-to-go are back. "Our customers kept asking us for them," Crane said.
The menu is available from Tuesdays through Fridays from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. All dinners come with an entree and two sides, serve between 1-2 people, and cost $17.95. Here is a sample of the entrees:
Tuesday: Meatloaf and Mashed Potatoes
Wednesday: Roasted Pork Loin with Homemade Applesauce
Thursday: Ropa Vieja with Black Beans
Friday: Grilled Shrimp with Citrus Vinaigrette
In addition, all the items on the Highland Place dinner menu are available for take-out. Soon, Crane's at Highland Place will be partnering with the online delivery service Deals4MealsOnline to make everything available for easy ordering and delivery.
Look for the menu to expand in the future. "We have gotten some special requests," said Crane.
