Dark Knight Shooting Hero Grew Up In Essex County
Alex Teves threw himself on top of his girlfriend to protect her from bullets during Colorado theater rampage, and was among those killed in massacre.
One of the heroes of the Dark Knight mass shooting, a 24-year-old man who threw himself on top of his girlfriend when the shooting began, lived in Verona until he was 13.
Alex Teves lived in Verona until 11 years ago when his father got a job transfer to the Phoenix area, according to Sunday’s New York Post.
News of his bravery and sacrifice emerged over the weekend as more information about those who died was released following the Aurora, Colo. theater shooting.
Twelve people were killed and 59 injured in the massacre.
Teves was with his girlfriend Amanda Lindgren when the shooting began and he threw himself on top of her when gunman James Holmes opened fire during the premiere of the latest Batman film.
Neighbors and relatives told the Star-Ledger that Teves was a respectful and caring person.

what a great heroic brave young man...now if only he had a .40 Glock on him he could have saved many other lives and injuries.....the crazed killer was reloading between killings and no one could take him out...how sad....

My heart goes out to all victims and families. To suggest that having a .40 Glock would make a difference is a crazy idea. Let's say, he was reloading his AR-15, which would have been a few seconds, the hero took aim at the suspect and discharged one shot. The hero only had one chance of one shot of a small head target. The big target was protected by body armor. After that one shot chance, which was likely to be missed, the suspect would return fire with a flood of bullets from AR-15 and that hero and his girlfriend could have been killed. Anyway, at this time, I don't think it is a good idea to suggest some crazy ideas like this.

you are correct...having a glock .40 cal is a crazy idea....what he should have had was a real ak-47 with armour piercing bullets.......more guns in good hands equals a way to fight back and protect

Good for you. I only hope that you do not live in the Essex county and we don't have to get near you in any public places. Enjoy you AK elsewhere. There are many states that love you for that and I respect the decision of those states.

i respect you also...im in livingston....for legal reasons i state I DO NOT HAVE ANY ILLEGAL FIREARMS....beleive me there are plenty down in newark, east orange,etc....and u know what? the gang bangers also have a 2nd ammendent right to firearms...our founding fathers guaranteed it....im not crazy, just a strict constitutionalist.... these days strict constitutionalists are condsidered crazy....as an example, you know our jails are filled...more than any other country, and the inmates have to fight for their lives against other inmates...our constitustion says no cruel or unusual punishment...i beleive all inmates should be able to sue if they are violated in prision...they should be safe, now how many people would say im crazy for protecting inmates????but it is unconcstitutional otherwise
