The Department of Health, in partnership with the Department of Recreation and Cultural Affairs, is sponsoring a File of Life program aimed at senior citizens and other residents who would benefit from giving first responders immediate access to their medical history.

The File of Life packet consists of a medical and personal information card that provides critical information to first responders in an emergency situation, as well as a sticker to be placed on the front door. The card itself—to be placed on the refrigerator door and stored in a magnetized red vinyl case—stores information on medical history, medications, physicians and emergency contacts.

To request a packet, call the Department of Health at 973-378-7715, ext. 7710, or come to the Village Hall office. There is no fee for the File of Life.
