Giants Among Us, Shopping For A Cause

Robyn Ross hosted Shopping for a Cause to raise money for the Susan G. Komen Foundation and bring Billy Ard and Bart Oates out of retirement for the night.

On Friday, June 25th at Robyn Ross Designs, there were Giants among men – and women. That's because this South Orange Avenue boutique was co-hosting, Shopping for a Cause, along with Elite Events by Dani.

Robyn Fields, who owns the boutique with her husband Ross, recently reconnected with her college sorority sister, Danielle Weinstock.  Ms. Weinstock just launched a new  company, Elite Events by Dani.  Shopping for a Cause at Robyn Ross Designs was her inaugural event.

Fields and Weinstock brought in three other vendors. These vendors, along with Robyn Ross each pledged a portion of their proceeds to the Susan G. Komen Foundation for breast cancer.

Two former football stars made appearances.  Retired Giants players Billy Ard ('81-88) and Bart Oates ('85-93) came out to show their support in the fight against breast cancer.  Michelle Oates, Mr. Oates wife, said that they've been involved in the cause for years.

Billy Sheenan and Cara Camiscioli of B'Cara Salon in Florham Park were present, styling customers' hair and selling hair and make-up products.  Kelly McCarten, a representative for Age Loc, demonstrated Age Loc's Galvanic Spa treatments, and offered shoppers a half-face makeover, so they could see the results.  Monica Vicente, owner of Candy Couture Rocks, maker of girls' accessories, raffled off a big pink box of her merchandise.
