Henry Scott Is State Champ in 100 Fly and 200 Free Swim

The CHS boys 200 Freestyle team also won its C final relay.

Columbia High School swimmer Henry Scott won the 100 Fly (50.59 seconds) and the 200 Free (1 min 42.14 seconds) at the statewide Meet of Champions at the Gloucester County Institute of Technology Natatorium in Sewell, N.J.,
on Sunday. Scott's 200 Free time breaks his school record from last year.

Meanwhile, the CHS boys 200 Freestyle relay came in first in the "C" Relay (17th overall) with another CHS record-breaking time of 1:30.80, besting Saturday's time, which had broken a school time record from just a few weeks ago. The CHS boys 200 Freestyle team actually achieved the 12th fastest time overall at the meet, but after prelims Saturday—in which they placed 17th overall—they were swimming in the C final Sunday. Reported swim mom Lindsay Scott, "All the boys got to stand on the top podium step!" The 200 Freestyle team was Nigel Hunter, Henry Scott, Andrew Voorhees and Robbie Gottlieb.
