Last Chance: "Kick it Kohl" Fundraiser is May 12

Attend this benefit to help a local boy with a rare brain tumor. There are other ways to help, too.

Tickets are almost sold out for "Kick it Kohl," a event to raise money to help Kohl Angelo, a sixth grader at Maplewood Middle School, and a Jefferson School alum. Kohl has been diagnosed with a rare brain tumor — D. I. P. G. or Diffuse Intrinsic Pons Glioma. He has received treatment at St. Jude's in Memphis, participating in a clinical trial.

DJ Jerseyfox will be spinning tunes and there are lots of exciting auction items. Local eateries have donated wonderful food and drinks. Here are the details:

Where: The Woman's Club, Maplewood, NJ

When:  Saturday, May 12, 2012 (evening)

What:  food & drinks, silent auction, raffles, music, loads of fun!!!

To register, click here.

Previously, local students at South Orange Middle School and Jefferson School have held fundraisers to help Kohl's family with expenses.

You can also help defray the family's expenses by visiting the HK C.A.R.E.S program of the HK Community Fund. HK has set up an online donation site at: www.hkcommunityfund.org. However, if you go onto HK's site, you need to specify at the end of your contribituion that "this is for Kohl Angelo" in order for the money to get to the Angelo family.

Finally, keep up with Kohl's story on Caring Bridge:
