Lenten Spirit Catches Fire

Church offers Fish Fry to community on Fridays during Lent.

Rev. Canon Sandye A. Wilson, Rector of St. Andrew and Holy Communion Church in South Orange, burned sacrificial Lenten offerings during Sunday services. Lent is a time for introspection in the church and parishioners wrote on paper things in their spirit, behavior, life or relationships they hope to let go of during this Lenten season. Those slips of paper were dropped into the fire.

Rev. Wilson has invited members of the community to join in the walk through Lent. The church is presenting Fish Fry and Film Fridays, and Sunday Lenten series. More information on special Lenten services and events are listed on the church’s Web site, www.sahcchurch.org or call (973) 763-2355. The Episcopal Church of St. Andrew and Holy Communion is located at 160 W. South Orange Ave. (corner of Ridgewood Road).
