Saturday is "Shred It" day across the two towns.
First, South Orange residents can bring their papers and files to the South Orange Fire Department on Sloan Street for secure shredding and to raise funds for The Rotary Club of South Orange. The cost is $5 per box. Shredding runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Maplewood’s shredding day is also this Saturday at the Maplewood Recycling Center, 359 Boyden Ave. from 8 a.m. until noon — or until the truck fills up, whichever comes first. It is open to all Maplewood residents. There is no charge.
In both towns, to ensure security, individuals will be able to witness the destruction of their papers, as they are shredded. All shredded material will be recycled.
