UPDATED: Meet New Jersey's Olympians
Here are the local athletes from the state who will be competing in the 2012 Olympic Games.
They've put in innumerable hours of sweat, blood and tears to get where they are today. They are among the best of the best and are ready to prove their mettle. 529 athletes from 45 states will represent the United States at the 2012 Olympic Games in London.
They are competing in events as diverse as athletics, fencing, rowing, soccer and basketball. For everyone, from swimmer Katie Ledecky, 15, to 54-year-old equestrian jumper Karen O’Connor, these Games represent the culmination of all the hard work and dedication they've put in to win the coveted medal.
It's time to meet the Olympians from the Garden State.

Good luck to all these fine athletes and their families. I too have a friend who I watched at the Trials become an Olympian in a track event, and it is the most exciting feeling in the world.

Current World Champion in Freestyle wrestling is from WInslow Township representing the United States in England JORDAN BURROUGHS!!!!

Cullen Jones, Olympic Swimmer 2008 & 2012, lived in Irvington NJ and attended St Benedict's Prep School in Newark. He is now training in NC, but definitely should be on this list!

Did anyone else notice that the people from South Jersey have normal names like Steve and Nick, while the North Jersey people have "modern" "rich boy" names like Tobin and Connor?

I didn't notice. I did notice that: (1) Nick is NOT from Southern NJ. (2) Tobin is a woman, NOT a "rich boy". (3) Most of the NJ Olympic Athletes are from Northern NJ (not that it matters) --- They are representing the UNITED STATES of AMERICA!
Keep up your "O-vision" of NJ and the USA. You will go 'places'.
