Columbia High School (CHS) hosted its annual "Back to School Night" for parents on the evening of Wednesday, October 3.  Despite being held on the same evening as the first 2012 Presidential debate, the turnout was impressive.

This year's event began at 7 PM when parents -- clutching school maps and student schedules -- scrambled through the school's corridors attempting to keep up with the same quickly paced bell schedule that the students have when changing classes.  Attending parents had the opportunity to visit their student's classrooms, meet the teachers, and get a general overview of the approach being taken in each subject, in addition to receiving "one-on-one training" to access some of the school's powerful online programs.  During the evening's teacher presentations, many classrooms were filled to capacity or beyond.

After advancing steadily in the biennial rankings for public high schools in the state, CHS is now ranked among the state's top 50 schools, as reported by New Jersey Monthly Magazine.
