Young musicians have been offering the sweetest sounds of the season at a series of concerts held at schools throughout the district. Beginning with fifth graders, the students are climbing the scales as they learn – with the youngest, everything from beginning notes to how to take apart their instrument and put it in the case.
The melodies become more complex with each passing grade, their talents coming together in a finale at Columbia High School’s Spring Art and Music Festival. Tuesday night, the three-hour concert featured the finest of the students’ creative talents.
