The Youth Orchestras of Essex County has a concert at Seton Hall to kick off its tour of Austria.

 

The Youth Orchestras of Essex County played a Bon Voyage Concert at Seton Hall on Sunday, June 14. The concert at Jubilee Hall kicked off an overseas performance tour of Austria, including stops in Vienna, Salzburg and Innsbruck.

Highlights of the concert included "March Militaire" by Franz Schubert, the traditional American song "Aura Lee," "Andante" and "Allegro" by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, "Easy Winners" by Scott Joplin, "Intermezzo" from Cavalleria Rusticana by Pietro Mascagni, "Minuet" from Symphony No. 4 by Joseph Haydn, "Andante Festivo" by Jean Sibelius, "Blue Tango" by Leroy Anderson and "Persian March" by Johann Strauss.

The young musicians in YOEC's traveling orchestra are from South Orange, Maplewood, West Orange, Short Hills, Livingston, Glen Ridge, West Caldwell, Union, Summit, Montclair, Verona and Nutley.
