Photos: SHU Teams Up With Clean Sweep South Orange
SHU's SOS day provides help for South Orange
On Saturday, Seton Hall held their third Service on Saturday (SOS) and once again, South Orange was a part of it.
Previously, the school has combined with South Orange to have the students check the town's gas lamps. This time around, the students joined forces with Clean Sweep South Orange and helped clean the streets of downtown. This operation was arranged by the South Orange/Seton Hall University Engagement Committee.
Sponsored by the South Orange Chamber of Commerce, Clean Sweep South Orange is a group of volunteers, led by resident Matt Mattheiss, that take to the streets and clean up all the litter aand garbage they can find.
Numerous local officials thanked the students for their participation with the group, including Assemblyman John McKeon, Assemblywoman Mila Jasey and Village President Alex Torpey. After the students finished, Bunny's hosted them for some pizza and soda as a way of thanking them for their work.

What fun to photograph positive images of the seton hall students. What a great combination of dedicated village volunteers working together with interested energetic students. We hope to get some SHU "artists" to paint holiday windows too. Its great to see people engaged in the towns - where we all live. Team leaders really worked hard to keep this done quickly followed by some fun.
Thanks for working hard to help this town and the world in general students through your community service projects! Thanks to DOVE on campus too for facilitating the process.
