Police Blotter: Stolen Purse, Home Invasion
The following arrest information was supplied by the South Orange Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.
- A Western Drive resident said sometime between Dec. 14 and Dec. 31, someone entered his 2011 Lexus and removed approximately $10 in change. There were no signs of a forced entry.
- An Elm Court resident said on Jan. 1, at approximately 2:30 a.m., he heard a noise coming from the first floor of his house. When the homeowner turned on the lights, he heard a door shut and at approximately 8:30 a.m., he discovered his back door was open and an old jewelry box was located on his porch but with no items missing from it.
- Schuller Josma, 19, of South Orange, and Almaw Colding, 18, also of South Orange, were arrested on Jan. 2 at approximately 10:30 p.m. after an officer on routine patrol saw them acting suspiciously in a parked vehicle. When the officer approached them, he discovered the subjects were in possession of a controlled dangerous substance (marijuana) in additional to drug paraphernalia. Josma and Colding were arrested at the scene on Rynda Road without incident and processed.
- A South Orange resident said on Jan. 2, at approximately 4 p.m., she was shopping at the Pathmark supermarket located on Valley Street, when she discovered someone had removed her purse from her shopping cart. The victim said the purse contained $80 in cash, personal identification and a bank card.

"Home invasion"?That headline is misleading.
It's a simple burglary of a dwelling not an "invasion".
Let's not puff up the incident more than it has to be.
