Residents Advised Not to Eat Community Garden Produce
The garden was flooded after Hurricane Irene
The Community Garden was flooded last weekend by water from the Rahway River. While the water has receded, residents are advised not to eat the vegetables growing in the garden due to possible contamination from the water. South Orange Health Department personnel will notify residents by posting a sign at the garden, according to trustee Michael Goldberg, in a post on MaplewoodOnline.

As a point of clarification, the Health Department issued the advisory, but the Community Garden Committee will post a sign at the garden (and will also notify the gardeners through their Google Group and Facebook page)
