Seton Hall Gunman Pleads Not Guilty
Man who caused campus-wide lockdown last year remains in Essex County Court
The 22-year-old man who brought a gun to Seton Hall last February and caused South Orange police to put the entire campus on lockdown was arraigned in Essex County Court on Monday, according to Tuesday's Star-Ledger.
Kevin Papalia allegedly drove to Seton Hall in search of an ex-girlfriend after firing off shots at an Old Bridge industrial building. Police put the campus on lockdown after hearing he was en route to Seton Hall, apprehended him at Xavier Hall, and discovered he had shot himself.
Papalia was unable to post the $300,000 bond and remains in Essex County Jail; his next court appearance is Feb. 3.
