Shop for Free at Millburn Synagogue
On Monday, leftovers from the White Elephant Sale are going for nothing
Local bargain hunters, take note! On Monday from 9 a.m. until noon (or when everything is gone, if sooner), locals can shop for free at Congregation B'nai Israel. Volunteers will be clearing the place after the annual White Elephant Sale, and everything must go.
Shoppers are asked to bring their own bags, boxes and muscle for loading cars. The volunteers need to "clean house," so items will not be held, and the clear-out will last until items are gone.
Friday morning saw shoppers browsing in the spacious and well air-conditioned Social Hall. Books were priced at .10, and will cost even less at the Sunday Bag Sale. Fabulous Friday finds included a Tiffany crystal apple and Pottery Barn flatware. Fun Friday finds included a "Fawlty Towers" box set, linens, kitchenware and clothing galore. A happy shopper discovered Ugg slippers for a dollar.
Sunday was a Bag Sale, which saw enthusiastic shoppers filling large bags. However, much remains, and it's free on Monday.
At the corner of Vauxhall and Millburn Ave., the Congregation is located at 160 Millburn Ave. Inquiries should be made at the synagogue office, 973-379-3811.
