SOMS Teacher Will Pursue Donaldson Hearing
Eighth grade teacher Steven Cohen will pursue rehire
Steven Cohen has requested a Donaldson hearing from the South Orange - Maplewood Board of Education. The eighth grade Social Studies teacher at South Orange Middle School notified Patch tonight of his decision; he has no further comment.
Cohen is one of two teachers at SOMS who was not rehired towards tenure, igniting protests for the past several weeks. The other teacher, Kathleen McCort, has made no statement.
