South Orange Blues Festival This Sunday

This free concert series will be from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. at South Mountain Reservation.

 

 

Get your fill of the blues Sunday at the South Orange International Blues Festival. 

The blues festival is part of the Essex County's SummerMusic Concert, and features innumerable local musicians. The concert will be from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. at South Mountain Reservation, on Cheery Lane. 

This free, day-long festival will be emceed by Johnny Ciao. The day's lineup will be:

• 11 to 11:45 a.m. - Dave Keyes and Bob Devos

• noon to 12:45 p.m. - Rosalyn McClore                                    

• 1 to 1:45 p.m. - Michael Packer                                   

• 2 to 2:45 p.m. - Dean Shot                                                

• 3 to 3:45 p.m. - Al Gold and SRK                                  

•  4 to 5 p.m. - Eliza Neals                                    

• 5:20 to 6:30 p.m. - Michael Hill's Blues Mob featuring Vernon Reid with Colin John 

• 6:45 to 7:30 p.m. - Full Circle Blues Band

Many of these musicians --including Michael Griot, may call one of the Oranges or this area home, but they play worldwide. This is a great event, come hear why. And thanks to Michael Griot for all the work and love he puts into this festival each year!!!

JITNEY SHUTTLE FOR THE BLUES FESTIVAL - Sunday, September 9
The South Orange Parking Authority has organized a free “Park & Ride” for the 3rd Annual South Orange International Blues Festival.
This event is scheduled for Sunday, September 9 in the South Mountain Reservation.
The Parking Authority will provide 30 minute round trip runs throughout the day.
Park your car for free in the New Jersey Transit lot near the Church Street entrance/exit.
The buses will take you from there right to the Festival.
Bus runs begin at 10:30am and end at 9pm.
