South Orange DPW Offering Free Shredded Wood
The South Orange Public Works Department has shredded wood that can be used as top dressing and weed prevention available for pickup at 300 Walton Avenue.
The South Orange Public Works Department has shredded wood that can be used as top dressing and weed prevention available for pickup at their compaound located at 300 Walton Avenue. This material is free to residents.
Those picking up small quantities should bring containers and be prepared to load their own material. Public Works is currently over-stocked with shredded wood due to processing fallen trees and branches after the recent storm.
As always South Orange residents can pick up shredded wood material on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. or on Saturdays from 8 a.m. to noon.
No deliveries are available at this time.
If the wood needs to be loaded by DPW workers, bulk quantities of shredded wood(minimum 3 cubic yards) are available to be bucket loaded by DPW into trucks at a rate of $4.00 per cubic yard. Interested parties must call the Department of Public Works at (973) 378-7741 to make an appointment for loading.
