South Orange is Celebrating, About Town

Getting ready to Celebrate South Orange -- plus wedding cakes, green grocery stores and a bit of nostalgia.

It’s pretty much all about Celebrate South Orange this week, as our fair village gears up for the biggest and splashiest bash of the year on Saturday, June 11.

On the schedule are games, music and dance, arts and crafts, the Sloan Street Market, a Sloppy Joe Eating Contest and a health fair (presumably where contest entrants should head directly after competing).  The day will culminate in a festive and delicious community supper.  Patch will be bringing you more details about specific events throughout the week.

An event this huge only succeeds when people pitch in.  What will volunteering get you?  A nifty T-shirt, an opportunity to win a super-fancy ISI Twist & Sparkle Beverage Carbonator from – and the chance to be right smack in the middle of all the action and fun.  Visit here to sign up.
