South Orange is in Fashion

The joint was jumping as kicked off its first Fashion’s Night Out on Thursday, Sept. 8.  A DJ played tunes while guests sipped drinks, mingled, and shopped the season’s hottest bags, shoes, dresses and accessories.

“The fashionistas were out and about grabbing up the newest fall styles,” said marketing director Elyse Corwin. 

Singer/songwriter Chris Akinyemi capped off the evening with a live performance.  A raffle was drawn with gifts donated by , , , , and Gefken Flowers.  All proceeds went to the Elks Clubs to benefit the New Jersey Food Bank.

Corwin noted the people and businesses in the community who helped make the event a success, including Sedoc PR, The Bridal Nook, Frances Moncho Collection, , , , Risa Olinsky, 20/20 Photography, Artie Miller from the Art of Magic and Random Access.

Tweens, Too, are Fashionistas

South Orange residents Kimberly Minor and Joanne Watkins recently launched JC’s Closet, a pop-up shop for tweens and their moms. 

Here is a description from the website: “We've researched what's hot and what's not, and sourced hundreds of brands to bring the best to JC's Closet.  Each item is carefully chosen with the discerning eye of a parent with 20 years in the fashion industry, selecting only the most coveted apparel brands, accessories and novelty items for kids aged 7 to 14. We also feature incredible unique jewelry and accessories for moms and teens.”
