A Newark resident was arrested for theft and fleeing an officer

Shawn Thompson, 25, of Newark, was arrested Thursday afternoon. South Orange detectives determined that Thompson fled from an officer in a stolen car on June 11. At that time, a SOPD officer saw Thompson and two others using fraudulent cards to try getting money from an Academy Street ATM.
