Single-stream recycling arrives in South Orange on July 11. Residents will no longer need to sort paper from plastic from cans and bottles. In addition, more items than before can be recycled.
What Residents Need to Know:
Recyclable items will be collected curbside twice each month, on the second and fourth Wednesdays. (If one of those days is a holiday, the items will be collected the next day.)
An expanded list of items can be recycled. The full list is here and attached as a pdf.
New toters are available in three sizes, and can be purchased from the Department of Public Works or ordered here. For now, the toters that residents are using can still be used.
If your recycling is not collected, please notify the contractor, Giordano Recycling, at 1-800-216-2250, Ext. 13 or by email at dispatch@gogreengiordano.com.

Please note that plastic bags are NOT currently accepted in the single stream recycling. The Village and hauler are working on the possibility of adding them to the "stream" in the future.
