Time to Get Out Those Gloves and Bats

South Orange recreation department sponsors girls softball clinic

Major league pitchers and catchers are already hard at work in spring training, so should it surprise us that their high school counterparts are on the same schedule?

Unfortunately, the weather in South Orange is a bit cooler than in southern Florida or Arizona, so Saturday's softball clinic—organized by the Maplewood Recreation Department—for CHS was indoors at the South Orange Middle School gym.

The girls got coaching from Mark Maire and Matthew Becht in basic softball skills as well as some practice with gloves and bats.
