Turnover Sale Debuts New Sale Days
In response to popular demand, the sale has more evening and weekend hours
Tradition meets innovation at the Turnover Sale. The United Methodist Women of Morrow Church are well-known for their annual July rummage sale. Known as “the Miracle on Baker Street,” the sale has been providing locals a place to donate and place to buy since the Depression. In response to popular demand, this year will see a new schedule of sales dates, with more evening and weekend hours.
“Many of our loyal and new customers prefer to shop after work, camp, and daytime activities,” explain sale organizers Joyce Stibitz and Mary Auth. “We’ll be able to meet their needs better this year with more weekend and evening hours.”
The 78th Turnover Sale dates are:
Saturday mornings: July 2, 9, 16, from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Tuesday evenings: July 5, 12, 19, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Closing Day is the only Thursday sale date: July 21 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Donations are welcome starting June 20, say the organizers. The Turnover can’t accept textbooks, encyclopedias, or foreign language texts.
And many volunteer opportunities, whether sorting donations or selling, are available. Call Morrow Church at 973 763-7676 and ask for Mary to learn more.
