Tuscan School Promotes Teacher to Fill Vacancy
Theodore Panayoutou becomes Tuscan's interim Assistant to the Principal.
Malikah Tamar Majeed, principal of Tuscan School, sent a letter to families annoucing the promotion of teacher Theodore Panayoutou as Tuscan School Assistant to the Principal. "Mr. P" began serving in his new role this week, replacing Marianne Hess. Hess moved to South Mountain School this month after Benita Samuels became principal of Marshall School.
What follows is the letter Majeed sent to the Tuscan community:
Dear Tuscan Family,
Please join me in congratulating Mr. P!
Last night the Board of Education approved the appointment of Mr. Theodore Panayoutou as Tuscan School Assistant to the Principal. This temporary position will help maintain our momentum at Tuscan School while we search for a permanent Assistant Principal.
As you may know, Mr. Panayoutou is one of Tuscan’s highly regarded Physical Education Teachers. Mr. Panayoutou began a seamless transition into his new role as Assistant to the Principal yesterday. We are confident that the responsibilities of the Assistant to the Principal will be well-managed by Mr. P and we thank him for his willingness to accept these new responsibilities.
To ensure a smooth transition for our students, Mr. Panayoutou and Mrs. Sullivan have been introducing students to certified Physical Educator, Mr. Chris Shenise, who will be teaching Mr. Panayoutou’s Physical Education classes and team teaching with Mrs. Sullivan in the interim.
Mr. P’s new role provides us with a comfortable time frame in which to complete our district’s appropriately rigorous and well-structured process for identifying the best qualified educator to serve as Tuscan School Assistant Principal.
Remember should you have concerns or questions about any aspect of your child’s Tuscan experience please let us know as we value your insights. We have a great school that will continue to become stronger with your help and support.
