Work Off That Turkey With a Bike Ride

SOMbike hosts two Thanksgiving weekend bike rides on Sunday, Nov. 27.

After a weekend of gastronomical indulgence, you may want to work off your preliminary winter padding with two Thanksgiving bike rides scheduled for Sunday, Nov. 27.

The South Orange Maplewood Bicycle Coalition (SOMbike) has planned one ride for grown-ups (and skilled younger riders) leaving at 8 a.m. from the NJ Transit Parking Lot, Maplewood Ave. and Baker Street. It's a ten-mile round trip route through back roads in Millburn and Short Hills.

For families, there will be shorter, easier ride starting at 2 p.m. at the NJ Transit Parkig Lot, Maplewood Ave. & Baker Street that will proceed to closed off Brookside Drive. Those who want to can continue on the longer ride, and then pick up the Brookside riders on the route back.

The rides are always free however they are subject to the weather. Check sombike.com for last minute details.

Rides will be led by experienced SOMbike ride leaders.
