SAVE A LIFE: ADOPT A PET!

Our Featured Adoptable Pet: Potsie

I’d like to introduce myself to you!  My name is Potsie and I’m a sweet, but very shy little girl and need a patient, kind and loving owner willing to work with me to learn to trust people.  I was brought to the shelter as a stray kitten and I never seemed to get used to being domesticated totally and was always very timid with people. I'm working on being more trusting with the shelter employees and volunteers, but I really need an understanding owner that is willing to work with me more.  My shelter friends Rich and Penny have made so much progress with me because of their kindness and attention and they both think that I have so much potential to be a great pet if I could find a special owner with a big heart!

Even though I’ve been so lonely and bored in my shelter cage for what seems like forever, I still hold out hope that someone might give me a chance and love me one day and I watch the door carefully every time someone comes in to visit and think that maybe this time its going to be the person that I’ve been waiting for to take me with them.  Please come to meet me and maybe you can be my long awaited forever home!  When I see you come through the door, I promise if you just give me a chance and stop at my cage for awhile you’ll love me, but not as much as I’ll love you for giving me a chance and rescuing me from my shelter cage.

Isn't this publication called Maplewoodpatch? While I believe in adoption of animals from any shelter/rescue organization, wouldn't it serve Maplewood better to feature ones from Jersey Animal Coalition, the rescue group for Maplewood and South Orange?

Hi Robert, thanks for the comment and the Wayne Township Animal Shelter serves the town of West Caldwell, which is why I also blog on Caldwells Patch. It seems that my post on Caldwells Patch automatically sends it to Maplewood Patch as well, which I wasn't aware of and don't have control over since this is how Patch organizes the distribution groups, but our shelter is still local to the Northeast NJ area for people that might see an animal that captures their heart and want to adopt. But your town's local shelters and rescue groups are certainly welcome to join Patch as well so that they can get their animals out there for all to see too. If you feel strongly about that it might be a good suggestion for you to make to your favorite local rescue groups so they can get their animals on Patch too. All are welcome when it comes to the welfare of animals and Patch is a great way to get their cute, furry faces out there. :)
