The Boston Pops Esplanade Orchestra – led by Conductor Keith Lockhart – returns for its annual holiday concert in NJPAC’s Prudential Hall on Sunday, December 4 at 7:30 pm.  The Orchestra will be joined by pop vocal group Rockapella for a rare foray outside the group’s traditional a cappella performances.

At NJPAC, Keith Lockhart leads the Boston Pops Esplanade Orchestra in a traditional holiday program, drawn from a repertoire of Christmas classics, Broadway show tunes and American standards. Lockhart and ensemble welcome Rockapella for the performance.  Rockapella member Scott Leonard, who helped create special arrangements for the concert for both Rockapella and the Pops, said of the performance “It’s a thrill to have that wall of sound coming from behind you. Besides it gave me a chance to satisfy my urge to arrange for new instruments and indulge my fascination for Glenn Miller-style Big Band arrangements that I loved growing up.”
