South Orange residents are invited to a fun family day at Meadowland Park and the Community Pool. Activities planned for the day include:
9:30 a.m.—Floods Hill—Bicycle Rodeo - The Parking Authority teaches community children about bicycle safety using a course created on Floods Hill.
11:30 a.m.—Meadowbrook Lane -Village Parade -
March, Bike or Stroll in our Fourth.-of-July themed Parade from Floods Hill to the South Orange Community Pool. PRIZES will be awarded for “Most Creative”, “Most Patriotic” and “Zaniest”. NO PETS PLEASE!
Noon —Cameron Field– 4th of July Ceremony - National Anthem and judging and awarding of prizes.
1 p.m.-4 p.m. —Duck Pond—Model Boat Exhibit - The South Orange Seaport Society will proudly display model boats at the Duck Pond
AT THE COMMUNITY POOL
The pool will be open on the 4th of July to ALL South Orange Residents from 10 a.m.-8 p.m. Proof of residency (Recreation & Cultural Affairs I.D. Badge, driver’s license or utility bill) will be required at the gate. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
Special afternoon events 1 p.m.-4 p.m:
- DJ playing patriotic and other various music.
- Dunk tank! Come Dunk local officials , lifeguards and others.
- Sand art for kids, artwork to remember the day!

More About Meadowland Park
Meadowland Park is directly next to the Baird Community Center and has four baseball/softball fields (one with lighting for nighttime play) and a soccer-playing area. Theatrical productions and summer concerts sponsored by the Department of Recreation are held there. Meadowland Park and Flood's Hill run into each other.
