WHAT:
SOPAC’S HERB + MILLY IRIS GALLERY
In an effort to promote and nurture
another genre of art, SOPAC continues its visual arts initiative with The Herb
+ Milly Iris Gallery. SOPAC’s lobby sets the stage for year-round
rotating art exhibitions dedicated to bringing contemporary art to the
community by featuring local artists and providing them with opportunities to
reach new audiences. SOPAC officially unveils the latest exhibition
at a free reception this Wednesday 11/9. On display will be Visual
Rhythms - large scale acrylic paintings and giclée prints by Nancy Bergman
Pantirer which will be on view from 11/9 to 3/31.
The Herb + Milly Iris Gallery is the
creation of SOPAC Board Member Milly Iris, a South Orange resident and arts
advocate. In addition to the exhibitions, the Gallery will host an “Art
About Series” which will include artist talks, gallery tours, educational
programs, etc… The artwork on display is for sale with proceeds supporting
SOPAC.

More About South Orange Performing Arts Center
The South Orange Performing Arts Center (SOPAC) is a world-class performing arts space in the middle of South Orange, featuring music, theater, dance and comedy. In addition to entertainment events, the Center hosts a variety of performing arts education programs including, Performances for Schools, ArtWorks, New Jersey Youth Theatre, TADA! Youth Theater and Lydia Johnson Dance. The facility's loft and theater are available to rent for private functions. There is also a Clearview Cinemas on the ground floor. SOPAC opened in November 2006 and is located next to the South Orange train station and has its own lot, which is used for commuter permit parking during the day.
