DESCRIPTION:Please join us for a fun\, family-friendly summer&rsquo\;s af
 ternoon  performance by singer-songwriter &amp\; guitarist Gary Reed who
  will  perform in the beautiful historic garden of Macculloch Hall Histo
 rical  Museum.\nMr. Reed has reemerged as an accomplished and contempora
 ry voice --  with lyrics that resonate from that earlier time.&nbsp\; An
  outstanding guitar  player and performer\, he is a premier fingerstyle 
 guitar player and  guitar champion winner who writes and plays unique so
 lo guitar  arrangements ranging from Joplin to the Beatles\, New Age to 
 Yazoo and  &ldquo\;Finger Popping&rdquo\; original tunes. His style come
 s out of the 1960&rsquo\;s  revival of the black blues guitar players an
 d performed with guitar guys  from New York City and San Francisco. Gary
  started his performing  career in the Village in the late sixties and e
 arly seventies being a  regular player at the Bitter End\, Folk City\, C
 af&eacute\; Wah\, Max&rsquo\;s Kansas  City\, The Village Gate and most 
 of the clubs in the Village at that  time. He had the opportunity to ope
 n for some great players such as:  Jerry Jeff Walker\, Billy Joel\, Rand
 y Newman\, Joe Walsh and Jeremy Steig.\n&nbsp\;\nGary will perform in th
 e Garden at 4pm.&nbsp\; Visitors will have the  opportunity to explore t
 hrough a variety of summer blooms in the garden  and relax on the large 
 lawn during the program. Guests may bring  picnics\, blankets or chairs 
 and settle back for a late afternoon of  great music in a beautiful sett
 ing. Travelling Treats Ice Cream Company will  have a variety of treats

 nd will give  guests an opportunity to experience Macculloch Hall Histor
 ical Museum  before heading out to the garden for the concert.&nbsp\; Th
 e museum is open  for tours of the home and galleries from 1pm\, with th
 e last house tour  leaving at 3pm.&nbsp\; Enjoy the current exhibit The 
 Other Side of War: The Civil War on the Home Front.&nbsp\;  Life on the 
 home front was not easy for loved ones whom the soldiers  left behind. W
 omen played an important role in the Union war effort\;  starting the U.
 S. Sanitary Commission\, serving as nurses\, gathering  goods and raisin
 g money for the soldiers all contributed to the Union  victory. The exhi
 bit features letters to loved ones back home\, Lincoln  memorabilia from
  the Museum's collection including a plate from his  White House china\,
  and a document signed by Lincoln as President and  also by the Secretar
 y of War.&nbsp\; The Museum will remain open until 4pm  when the perform
 ance begins.&nbsp\; Admission is Adults $8\; Seniors &amp\;  Students $6
 \; Children 6 &ndash\; 12 $4. Members and children under 5 are free.  Pl
 ease no dogs during programs in the garden. We are pleased to offer  acc
 essible restroom facilities during garden events this summer.&nbsp\; In 
 the  case of inclement weather the performance will be moved indoors. Th
 e  announcement will be made on the Museum&rsquo\;s main phone message o
 n  performance day.\n&nbsp\;\nMacculloch Hall Historical Museum preserve
 s the history of the  Macculloch-Miller families\, the Morris area commu
 nity\, and the legacy of  its founder W. Parsons Todd through its histor
 ic site\, collections\,  exhibits\, and educational and cultural program
 s. It is located in the  heart of Morristown&rsquo\;s National Historic 
 District.&nbsp\; The Museum is open to  tour the house and view exhibits
  on Wednesdays\, Thursdays &amp\; Sundays  from 1 to 4 p.m. General Admi
 ssion: The last tickets for admission are  sold at 3 p.m. The museum is 
 closed on Wednesday July 4th for  the Independence Day holiday and for t
 he Labor Day holiday on Sunday  September 2nd.&nbsp\; &nbsp\;School tour
