About This Location
South Orange Performing Arts Center
The South Orange Performing Arts Center (SOPAC) is a world-class performing arts space in the middle of South Orange, featuring music, theater, dance and comedy. There's also a Clearview Cinemas on the ground floor. SOPAC opened in November 2006 after years of planning. It's located next to the South Orange train station and has its own lot, which is used for commuter permit parking during the day. Big-name performers this season (the third) include comedian Paula Poundstone, folk singer Judy Collins and guitarist Joe Bonamassa. Membership is $55.
SOPAC is looking to rent its second-floor loft space, which could potentially be used as a dance studio or a party space. The Village has used it for community-wide meetings.
The executive director of SOPAC is Ondine Landa Abramson.
