SOPAC is excited to launch the new "In the Loft" series - consisting of seven blues and jazz concerts set in an informal club cafe atmosphere in the SOPAC Loft (on 3rd Floor). A casual, affordable and fun concert series featuring up-and-coming musicians and seasoned professionals, the "In the Loft" series offers an up-close perspective on today's blues and jazz musicians. $15 cover. Cash bar. No drink minimum.

Bassist, composer, educator and producer, John Lee is the co-founder of Jazz Legacy Productions and also serves as the executive director of the Dizzy Gillespie™ All-Stars and All-Stars Big Band with whom he performs regularly. A resident of South Orange, NJ, John has played in the bands of Sonny Rollins, Max Roach, McCoy Tyner, Larry Coryell, Joe Henderson, and Dizzy Gillespie. John Lee puts together a line-up of jazz artists from the area to perform in a classic Jazz Legacy All-Star Jam as part of the Jazz in the Loft series.

More About South Orange Performing Arts Center
The South Orange Performing Arts Center (SOPAC) is a world-class performing arts space in the middle of South Orange, featuring music, theater, dance and comedy. In addition to entertainment events, the Center hosts a variety of performing arts education programs including, Performances for Schools, ArtWorks, New Jersey Youth Theatre, TADA! Youth Theater and Lydia Johnson Dance. The facility's loft and theater are available to rent for private functions. There is also a Clearview Cinemas on the ground floor. SOPAC opened in November 2006 and is located next to the South Orange train station and has its own lot, which is used for commuter permit parking during the day.
