South Orange Maplewood Baseball Registration
For South Orange/Maplewood children ages 5-15 (as of April 30, 2013)
NEW PLAYERS must register in person. Any child who did not play in the Cal Ripken/Babe Ruth program in 2012 must register at one of the registration sessions and bring a copy of their birth certificate.
RETURNING PLAYERS have the option of online or in person registration. Online registration will be available from January 1st through February 10th for all players who participated in South Orange Maplewood Baseball in spring, 2012. To register online, go to www.thebaird.org, select “Register Online” and find the appropriate baseball program for your child. (Please Note: If this is the first time you are registering for a program on this website OR if you create a new account, you may need to wait up to 24 hours for your online account to be activated. Convenience fees apply to all online registrations. These fees are paid directly to the Internet Service Provider.)
Members of the South Orange Maplewood Baseball Committee will be on hand at all registration sessions to answer any questions. Complete baseball program details and registration information are available at The Baird in South Orange and online at www.sombaseball.org. You may download the registration form at www.sombaseball.org to fill out before you arrive at registration to make the process faster.
More About The Baird
The Baird is a century-old, Tudor-style building that houses the Department of Recreation and Cultural Affairs' administrative offices. There's a theater space used by three companies: Dreamcatcher, Penny Pretzel Playhouse and Flying Ship. The Pierro Gallery is located in the building too. Outdoor facilities include eight lighted tennis courts and a lighted basketball court.
The Village's Senior Social Services Unit is also located in the building. The office is open Tuesday and Thursday, 10am - 4pm. Its phone number is 973-378-7766, ext. 2225.
