This class will give an introduction to the process of silk screening, which became popular in the 1960s in the Pop Art movement and has developed into a mainstream printmaking technique used for both fine artwork and for printing on fabric such as t-shirts. At this class, students will explore a number of ways to create stencils including hand-drawn, found objects and computer-generated images. More About The Baird
The Baird is a century-old, Tudor-style building that houses the Department of Recreation and Cultural Affairs' administrative offices. There's a theater space used by three companies: Dreamcatcher, Penny Pretzel Playhouse and Flying Ship. The Pierro Gallery is located in the building too. Outdoor facilities include eight lighted tennis courts and a lighted basketball court.
The Village's Senior Social Services Unit is also located in the building. The office is open Tuesday and Thursday, 10am - 4pm. Its phone number is 973-378-7766, ext. 2225.
