Board of Education Election Still Not Settled.

As you know the Board of Elections are over for the most part - “almost” because since Nov. 6, 2013 12:07 PM, the numbers on Essexclerk.com/election have not changed, hence the 3rd seat for the SOMA BOE appears unsettled.

The Children s Education and Common Core Standards are still an Issue

During the election, one issue that surfaced strongly across the community is Common Core Standards that that I wrote about here. I also posted about the opposing positions as stated here which you heard about in the candidates public forums. If not familiar take a look at the websites.

The facts are that we have New Board Members, differing positions and the children still need to be cared for. Because the fact is Common Core Standards are being implemented with results that are not impressive. The various opinions of Common Core Standards are clearly saying it is not working as advertised. They say this in New Jersey and nationally across the US.

Common Core Has Some Huge Negatives

So, Common Core is in the process of being implemented far and wide across the United States. Are you aware of what has happened? Are you able to understand the impacts upon your children? If not you need to get educated to help our newly elected Board of Education make some sound decisions.

I have no argument in saying my opinion against Common Core Standards is extremely negative, until convinced otherwise. It appears the children suffer throughout the implementation and there does not seem to be a solution. So in following up on the issue by doing external research, I have to say what I found is not good.

Time To Get Educated on Common Core Standards Implementation

Therefore I will be posting Common Core Issues - Pros and Cons but so far I am only coming across the Cons and not hearing many solutions in favor of Common Core.

So now I am amazed that this issue is this huge but as I said, you need to educate yourself and start listening to the experts, the parents and the various communities across the country.
