Halloween Tips for Small Business and Nonprofits

Halloween is right around the corner! Do you plan to capitalize on the holiday? 

Online marketers should absolutely be preparing campaigns to cash in on Halloween. You need to take advantage of the positive mood surrounding the holiday and give your marketing campaign a dose of Halloween spirit.   

For your business or organization, Halloween is a great time or a real pain. And if you have done nothing to market your business during this holiday, then think about this statement from a recent Huffington Post article:  At almost $7 billion in sales, Halloween is a frighteningly successful holiday -- second only to Christmas in consumer spending. But for fundraisers and small business, Halloween Costumes are still #1.

If nothing else you should want some part of that huge money pie.

2.       Collect candy for the troops abroad.

3.       Collect food and coats for the poor and or the homeless .

4.       Make your marketing campaign reflect your cause and pick a costume that reflects it.

5.       Try reverse trick or treating. Instead of asking for treats, think about requesting resources like food for those in need.

6.        What's stopping you from collecting money like UNICEF? 

7.       Sponsor a Zombie walks.  Zombie walks are live and growing! 

8.       Have a Halloween event, then recruit and focus on Cause Marketing partners.

 Also, hopefully you are already growing your business online because according to Google, “one out of every five Halloween shoppers purchased from an online merchant they had never shopped with previously.” Sounds like you need to have an online presence and use it for Halloween.
