Out and about town, Johanna Wright was out expressing a heartfelt thanks to all of you for your support in electing her to the South Orange Maplewood Board of Education.

And as you know the Nov. 7th NEWS - RECORD of Maplewood South Orange acknowledged the election results of Daugherty and Wright's on the front page.

Johanna stated that it is important that she say thank you to everyone who volunteered on her campaign and also those who voted for  her in the school board election this year. 

As of Nov. 6, 2013 at 12:07 PM, according to the Essex County 2013 General Election - Unofficial Results, Johanna Wright beat out incumbents and newcomers alike, as Johanna secured an impressive 4,790 votes, which is 22.08% of the total.

Incumbent Daugherty secured 5,481 votes or 25.27% of the vote total and the other  incumbent candidate (Giles)  and newcomer candidate (Lawson-Muhammed) are still neck and neck for the 3rd seat at 18.64% and 18.74% respectively. Final results are waiting until the provisional ballots are counted. 

Wright a teacher in the district for 32 years and coach of the Columbia Girls High School Basketball team has some strong opinions on how to move forward to make sure all the kids are cared for first. She is energized, ready and will be highly visible and accessible.
